Type of Certification
The Board Certification in Anti-Aging Medicine is the official basic certification for physicians of the World Society of Anti-Aging Medicine (WOSAAM), which has over 8,000 member physicians.
Who Can Become Board-Certified?
Certification is available to physicians of all medical disciplines who need to certify their theoretical knowledge of anti-aging medicine. (Other health-professionals may apply to be accepted by the scientific committee for provisional accreditation limited to their area of expertise.)
What Is Assessed?
The WOSAAM’s Board Certification in Anti- Aging Medicine assesses a physician’s theoretical knowledge of anti-aging medicine. Anti-aging medicine is the medical discipline that covers the fundamental understanding of the process of senescence and knowledge of the techniques helpful to improve the quality of life during aging (“well-aging”), to prevent, delay, slow down, or even stop senescence; and extend the human lifespan.
Obtaining Board Certification is the first step to becoming an anti-aging medical expert.

Examination
The examination consists of at least 100 multiple-choice questions on the following topics:
Senescence, physiology of aging, biological age measurement, genetic typing, long life spans, lifestyle, physical activity, positive emotions and attitudes, sexual health,
sleep, light exposure, pollution and its premature aging effects, diets for vitality and long life, healthy gut and digestion, water intake, toxic drinks, macronutrients of the diet (proteins, fats, carbohydrates), micronutrients and nutritional therapies, hormone therapies, stem cell therapy, spa bath therapy.
Admission Criteria
Applicants must have a medical university degree as a physician (Other health-professionals who apply and are accepted by the scientific committee for accreditation limited to their area of expertise, must send a copy of their official degree.)
Applicants may not be subject to current or ongoing disciplinary sanctions or restrictions.
All fees must be paid before taking the examination.

Examination Results
You receive your exam results by e-mail within ten working days.
Success rate: In general, 80 to 85% of participants pass the exam on their first try.
Retaking the exam: If you fail the exam, you may choose to retake it; should this be necessary, the fee for the second exam is reduced to €500. For further information, please contact us.
Your Certificate
Applicants who pass the exam will receive hard copy of their certificates by post, or may opt to receive an electronic copy by e-mail.
Once your application, payment, and Honor Pledge have been verified, you will receive an e-mail containing a link to access the online examination. Please allow up to ten business days for processing.
Honor Pledge
To participate in the examination, first read and sign the following Honor Pledge:
“I certify that I will participate in this examination with total honesty. I certify that I will not receive, request, or use any unauthorized assistance during the examination (a competent person next to me, a book with information, Internet searching, or any other means). I will also not attempt to copy or download any questions from the examination for later use, nor disclose, either directly or indirectly, any information from the examination to any other person or entity.
I pledge on my honor that I will not give or receive any unauthorized assistance on this examination. I finally certify that my medical diploma is fully valid and validated at the time of signing.”
