Module 6 – Lecture 1 – Hypothyroidism: Diagnosis (2h20)

In this lecture, you will learn efficient methods for diagnosing hypothyroidism.

• Upon completing this lecture, you will have a better understanding of the prevalence of hypothyroidism, including cases with laboratory tests within the reference range, as evidenced by numerous scientific studies.
• You will gain the ability to diagnose hypothyroidism, including milder forms, in adults and children. This diagnosis will be based on a thorough assessment of medical history, physical signs, symptoms of deficiency, and relevant laboratory tests.
• Additionally, you will learn how to interpret serum and 24-hour urine laboratory test results related to thyroid dysfunction accurately. This includes understanding abnormal levels of thyroid antibodies, high reverse T3, and other relevant markers.
• Furthermore, you will explore scientific studies that support this information, providing a comprehensive understanding of hypothyroidism diagnosis and management.
